Lessons learned from Steve

Seven days after Steve Jobs passed away there is still a Michael Jacksonesque hype in the media, which is a good reason for me to do another (probably final) post on Steve Jobs focusing on the lessons entrepreneurs can learn from him. My favourite take-aways are written in bold :

  1. Experts are clueless (figure stuff out by yourself)
  2. Customers cannot tell you what they need (so you need to propose them something new and useful)
  3. Present big challenges to your employees
  4. Design counts (not only price or functionality)
  5. Big Graphics and Big fonts
  6. Jump Curves (don’t wait for your son to do that)
  7. Either it works (or it doesn’t)
  8. Price isn’t Value (and the left bottom corner sucks)
  9. A-players higher A-players (and B-players higher C-players, and so on...)
  10. Real CEOs can demo (and don’t let the VP do that)
  11. Don’t worry be crappy (or be brave be Beta)
  12. You need to believe in something (before seeing it) RIP Steve Jobs.
